This 1957 Buick Special has power Steering, Power Brakes, the original 364 Nail Head and Dyno Flow Transmission. The Buick runs, and is very solid for her age. It has solid floors and trunk pans no rot. The rear lower rockers need to be replaced. It is a complete car and the chrome is in good condition but needs to be restored. The interior is also complete including functional gages and actually nice dash, but needs restoration. The car runs well but would need to be gone through for a reliable driver.

You could go two different ways on this car for restoration. A nice dependable driver or a driver that has been completely gone through. That will depend upon what you want your finished car to be like and your budget.

Motor: We could completely rebuild the motor or core out radiator, rebuild carburetor, new water pump, tune-up, new belts, hoses and I would also check the timing chain it should be ok "but better safe than sorry"

Brakes: safety says redo those 100%

Transmission: Do mild rebuild

Front Suspension: Because of weight and age of vehicle rebuild with new shocks.

Body work and Paint: The great things about these 57 Buicks are the body lines and all the chrome. The chrome sets them apart from any other car, but it does get pricy to get it all done. The body work will always be the same cut and weld needed areas then, body work and paint.

You need to decide what color you want it? How perfect do you want it? And what chroming do you want done? All chroming including window frames, door handles, bumpers, tail lights, front light bezels etc. Do you want all new weatherstripping including windows, and felts?

Interior: could be done back to factory specifications or you could change it to your liking.

The best way to decide is this:

1. Make your wish List "what do you want"
2. Then determine your budget. If your budget is realistic we can work around it.
